Set it and Forget it Hardware/Software combo

Looking to build a arcade cabinet that, once configured properly, is likely to run a week or more without having to be restarted and fiddled with.

I currently use Bigbox on a Windows 11 laptop hooked up to external monitor (lid is closed and everything is still running) and GP2049-ce Xinput arcade joysticks to play retro arcade and console roms along with modern AAA RTX Steam games.

I dont mind taking the time to set up any hardware/software perfectly in the beginning but would like a system that once its setup right, is rock solid and I can leave it alone with a bunch of non-gamer friends to push any button and intuitively navigate and not crash or exit out of the system.

If I want to retain the ability to emulate roms but also play RTX GPU powered modern Steam games. With that in mind, should I use:

A) Debloated Windows 11 or 10 + Big Box with updates disabled, auto-launch to BigBox and Steam and use a shell to hide the OS

B) Use a gaming focused fork of Linux + EmulationStation-DE or RetroDeck or ? (Big Box doesnt work with Linux)

C) Some dedicated FPGA system like the (SuperStation One) for all rom emulation games and a KVM switch to switch over to either a Linux machine or a Windows/Bigbox machine when player want to play Steam games instead.

D)_____________ (Insert your brilliant 4th option here that will definitely be just as compatible and will do all these things better) ;)

Looking for electric candles that are both dimmed/warm incandescent (or true full spectrum, "flicker free" WLED) and have a very convincing flicker movement to not only cast moving shadows like a real flame but look like the real thing even when viewed directly from 8 ft+ away. They also should have a seemingly random pattern of movement and flicker. I'm less picky about the particular shape and material of the candles body, however battery powered is preferable but willing to covert it to DC, if need be.

If my memory is correct, I recall something of this rare quality installed into the Disney's Haunted Mansion years ago but havent seen anything as good since then.

Can't seem to find anyone that has built a 6 or even 8 player arcade joystick control panel. I want to do retro and some modern PC/Steam games (probably thru the BigBox UI) but wanted to see if there are any special considerations or hidden hurdles I should be aware of before I start wiring things up and configuring everything.

Dont mind putting in all the long technical work upfront but after its all dialed in, I want a set it and forget it experience so I can walk away and not have to manage it during a party.

(Please share links to any setup you've seen online as well)
