Been trying to switch jobs in Qatar for the last few months and honestly the market feels extremely difficult right now.

I’m currently working as a Electrical Engineer in the electrical in Doha with around 8+ years of experience including substations, HV/LV systems, KAHRAMAA projects, facility management. I’ve worked on 66/11kV and 132/11kV substations. Hamad Airport electrical substation facility maintenance projects.

Even with UPDA certification, Qatar driving license, local experience, and availability for immediate transfer, getting zero interview calls through online applications.

I’ve applied through Indeed, LinkedIn, company portals, and recruitment websites almost every day. Most applications either:

- get no response,

- remain “under review” forever.

It’s mentally exhausting spending hours applying online after work and hearing nothing back.

Just wanted to share this because I know many professionals in Qatar are going through the same thing silently.
