I'm a 16 year old female, turning 17 in two weeks. For my entire life, I have not sweat a lot. PE in elementary, I could run for an hour and not sweat at all, and the same thing continued until high school.

In the last few months (cold weather too) I have started to sweat more and more, almost exclusively in my armpits and hands. I was prescribed a medication for my thyroid level which was low in 2025, and was taking it every day for a few months until the doctor said I was able to stop; a few weeks before I stopped, I noticed I was getting more sweaty during random times, and it escalated a ton after I stopped.

I learned that high thyroid can cause excessive sweating, so I'm worried that may be the issue; however, it's so annoying to sweat all the time. I can't type anymore without my keyboard getting wet, and my shirts are all SOAKED within just around an hour.

I genuinely don't know what this could be other than high thyroid; I can be sitting down in a cool environment while working and literally have sweat dripping down my side. It's so uncomfortable. I have switched deodorants and this is also not helping either. I also know it's not my clothing making me hot, because my school has a uniform which I have been wearing for three years and has not been an issue until a few months ago.

I don't want a diagnosis, I just want to know what the issue may be, and who I can see about it. I will not be using antiperspirants so that's not a solution, but I'm genuinely worried and want to know what's wrong. I'd also like advice on how to deal with it because even my dark-coloured shirts will be darker around the armpits and I'm super insecure about it.

I still cannot believe it. This is Bun-bun, was the first stuffed animal I ever had. She's the reason I was able to sleep well when I was younger, and the reason that my favourite animals have been bunnies since I was born, and if I hadn't gotten her I would never have gotten my two actual bunnies!

I've been looking for the place she's from for so long with no success, and was given a link today by a kind stranger who spent days scouring the internet for me, without my knowledge.

Unfortunately, the bunny sold before I could purchase it, but on the bright side the one who ended up buying it was my mom :D

I cannot thank this stranger enough, and I truly hope they see this post and know how much this means to me!

Edit:

Thank you all very much for your help! To answer, I do not live in an earthquake area and I'm not too worried anymore. They've all been fine today and I don't believe it's anything too worrisome, but I will keep an eye on them and keep track of any strange behaviour!

OG post

I live with my parents, sister, and three pets.

Two of them are bunny brothers (Peanut+Stashy), and the other is a goldendoodle named Buddy. Last night, they were acting very abnormal, Buddy was whimpering in his crate all night and the buns were thumping like crazy.

For context, Buddy only whimpers during nights where he has diarrhea (he has a sensitive stomach), but this wasn't the case last night. Took him out several times and he only peed once before going back inside and continuing to whimper.

The Nuts (bunnies) will thump during the night occasionally so it's nothing strange, but it's usually just a couple times and they're done. This time, it was constant and would not stop.

All three pets are very sensitive to sound and danger, Buddy once refused to go outside for hours and was on guard the whole time; we later found out there was a coyote in the area. The Nuts will thump if something seems off, even with the weather.

I'm taking it pretty seriously and am also on the lookout, nothing seems to be wrong today so I feel like it was just a 'once in a blue moon' event, but I can't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. Am I overreacting, should I truly be worried about this?

He is so incredibly proud of himself.

I’m now putting two-step verification on my computer and NEVER telling him again. I’m just trying to get some history stuff done and this man is taking every opportunity to distract me.
