Advice about my potential portfolio. Be kind
I have been investing in a global index fund in a pie. (90% FTSE All world, 5% Ishares small cap, 5% global aggregate bonds).
Additionally, I have 9 pies custom made. One for each sector (grouping tech & communication and energy & utility).
These pies contain around 8 to 10 stocks with a stable prediction for growth by 2030.
Is this wise? I like to follow kevin olearys advice of diversifying but I'm uncertain if it would just be better to use an etf for each sector to control a lower risk diversification.
I understand that controlled ETFs give a lower risk factor but the type of stocks i have custom picked for my pies have a stronger stability in the market and I could see a greater return from having a higher percentage in them than an ETF would allow.
What's the thoughts on this? If it needs explaining further, please let me know. I am rather new but learning day by day.
Thank you for your kindness,
Dave
