So I'm headed to SF in early June to see some family in the East Bay and early round World Cup match. Plan to spend about 9-10 days in the area and have the World cup match toward the end of the trip. I have a free Hilton night to use before it expires this summer, so I thought we'd go into the city for 2-3 nights at the beginning of the trip (likely first weekend in June) and use that free night for one of them before the World cup actually starts and prices/availability get crazy. Then stay the rest of the trip with my relatives.

I see many properties there like the Hilton Union Square location, Parc 55, Hilton Financial District, Infinity, Barnes etc. When checking with Hilton Honors only the Canopy was not available with rewards on the nights I was debating. I'll be traveling with 2 grade school kids (4th and 2nd grader). So I'd like to get something suitable for them. Both in terms of having enough space and I hear about decent amounts of homeless in some areas. I don't care if my kids see a couple of homeless people but I'd like to avoid a situation where they are "all over the place" and we are constantly smelling urine or something.

Any thoughts?
