3 years ago I tore the labrum in my shoulder. Had an mri done a couple days after and surgery within 2 months of injury.
After surgery and physical therapy I had lost some range of motion mainly above the shoulder height and things like I can't reach into my back pocket without having some pain. But its my non dominant arm.
My dr said I wouldn't be able to return to my normal job so thats when I got a lawyer since that line of work I'd been doing for 20 years and didn’t know what else I was going to do.
After I got the lawyer everything slowed down. Qme appointments were set and canceled by their lawyer or mine 6 times in a year period. We settled and signed the papers last month with no qme appointment and no percentage done.
It was a compromise and release and ive been working in a new line of work for about 9 months now with no issues since all the work is below shoulder level and nothing heavy.
I had no restrictions but employer didn't want to bring me back but wouldn't fire me. So I got a new job but was on a leave of absence from them until the compromise and release cause I wasnt going to quit lol
Got my check yesterday. I'm glad its over. I ended up with 56k after lawyer fees.
This could have been done a year and a half ago when I was determined to be mmi. But I'm glad it over. I’m OK with the settlement and glad my shoulder not worse than what it is.
