I’m part of a tech professional group chat and they polled GTM folks to see how many people had applied to OpenAI and Anthropic, got interesting results.

There are 43 GTM (AEs and SEs) in the group most of them are mid-30s/early 40s, all of them had applied to these companies, none of them even got a screening call, not a single one, shocking given majority of them have major SaaS backgrounds and worked at successful startups.

I’m getting ready to apply for jobs and these two companies are top prospects for me, I have been working on updating my resume, looking at my network for possible referrals(I don’t know a lot of people at these companies and the ones that are connected to me are not responding) it’s pretty incredible to see how selective the interview process, I feel like I should take these two off my target list altogether since it seems impossible to get even a screening call.

FWIW I have 12 years of Ent Sales, 6 years in pure SaaS at a major CCaaS company, selling lots AI.

Not sure what the goal of this post tbh.
