5’0”, 125 lbs, women’s boot size 6.5 — got told I could ride a 136–138 junior board… is that actually a good idea?

Went into a shop and one person said I could probably get away with a 136/138 youth board. Another person told me sizing depends on “nose and shoulders” which confused me a bit.

For context:
- 5’0”, 125 lbs
- Women’s boot size 6.5
- I currently ride a 143 cm board
- Intermediate
- I’m looking at the Jones Twin Sister in 135
- I like a mix of park and all-mountain riding

I’ve seen people say weight matters more and that I should be in the 140–144 range, which matches my current board. I’m just trying to understand where a 136–138 junior board actually fits in.

Would going that short feel noticeably less stable compared to a 143, or is it just more playful without much downside?

Curious if anyone around my size has actually ridden both shorter boards and ~143s and what they preferred.

Open to thoughts or board recs 🙏

Hiii,
I’m an intermediate rider upgrading from a YES Emoticon. Mostly all-mountain riding, trying to improve carving and ride faster with more control, but still want to mess around in the park sometimes (small jumps, side hits, boxes).

Riding style:
- rarely ride switch
- want better carving + speed stability
still want forgiveness (don’t want anything catchy or punishing)
- occasional park, not focused on it
- sometimes ride a bit lazy so I need something not too demanding

I tried the Birds of Paradise before and didn’t like it — felt too unforgiving for me.

Boards I’ve been looking at / were recommended:
Jones Twin Sister
GNU Ladies Choice
Capita Paradise
Never Summer Proto T3 FR
Dream Weaver
Breezy Rider

Not set on anything, just trying to figure out what actually fits my riding style best.
What would you pick for this kind of riding?
