I noticed my 2001 XJ with all original cooling system getting up to around 235° on a 90° + day here in Florida. I ended up flushing the system and adding new coolant. Temps dropped a touch but still hit 225-230° at idle after a short run at 60-65mph.

I did some research and ordered a CSF 3 core radiator, GMB high flow water pump and a Motorad 195° high flow thermostat. Got all that installed today and I’m still hitting 220°+. Fan clutch is original but seems to be functioning as it should. The electric fan is also turning on at around 210°.

I’m thinking that a heavy duty fan clutch might be the next move, not sure a ZJ clutch will clear the 3 core so I’m exploring my options and looking for input.
