I don't build bicycles but I am working on an old English race car.

Most of these are brazed with silicon bronze. Nickel silver, or nickel bronze with oxy/acet is more common these days. I use a jet fluxer (gaslfux), aka an acetylene bong. I destitch the silicon bronze and use nickel bronze with oxy acet and the jet fluxer. I mostly replace damaged tubes or tubes that are no longer in compliance with the rules. The types of project I work on are Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix stuff.

I know paste is more common with bicycles.

Anyways, I am probably going to end up buying a gallon of liquid flux which is probably enough to build a small warship. It's not the pricy. $100 delivered.

The main reasons I post here;

  1. Before I buy a gallon, does anybody have like 12oz of liquid flux I could buy locally? Since you likely had to buy a gallon from Gasflux...

  2. If I buy a gallon does anybody want some liquid flux?
