Did Jean Alesi underperform in 1996?
I recently rewatched the 1996 Season Review on YouTube and there seemed to be a lot of hype surrounding Alesi going to Benetton. For those around at the time, was it expected that Alesi could be as competitive Schumacher was at Benetton? How much of Benetton’s underperformance in 1996 down to car versus the capabilities of their drivers?
