Instructure Hack/Question
Hello, I'm not sure if this belongs here. Perhaps a hacker thread might be more suffienct but I had a general question.
Yesterday as my daughter was doing schoolwork on her chromebook(school provided) when this popped up. Now when I googled it, it states that this hack has been happening since April 30th. Yet none of the parents were informed that this was happening, or that our data(and especially our child's data) has been comprismised. I was curious what the affected schools doc link was or what these people were demanding, but I was too afraid to follow the URLS included. I tried to use Google safe browsing but it told me there was no information available.
I'm highly pissed at the school for not informing us earlier, and I feel like they wouldn't have said much had I not messaged her teacher when it popped up for us. We got an extremely vague email later in the night telling us they had temporarily downgraded canvas functionality, but I feel like it barely addressed the fact that data has been compromised.
I don't know where I can safely view these things, or find out more information. I can be a bit "offline by default" when it comes to things like this lmao. Can any of you point me in the right direction?
