Can I just say how difficult it is for debut writers to actually find an audience on social platforms!

Is it just me or is it really that difficult for debut authors to grow on social platforms?

Being a debut author, I know that for my book to actually get out there, social platforms like Instagram are my best bet. I started writing my novel because I felt like I had a story to tell, a story worth reading but I had not realised that reaching people who actually might be interested in my work would be so difficult.

Cause now not only do I have to work on refining my draft, I also have to be consistently posting on my socials and then let the algorithm ‘pick me, choose me, love me!’, which so far, it doesn’t.

I truly wonder how others are getting so much traction. Is there a secret way I am unaware of or is this just how it works?

Hi! I wrote a romantasy set in Ancient Persia and it launches on Amazon in 3 weeks — would love to share it with people who might actually want to read it!

Hi! This is my time posting here as a debut author and I am genuinely nervous to do this.

I've spent the past year writing Echoes of Time— a time travel romantasy set in the Ancient Persia.

The story follows Olivia, a NYU student, who touches an ancient amulet and wakes up 2,500 years in the past. There she meets Dastan, a mercenary who feels impossibly familiar, who doesn't believe in fate, and who gives her a nickname before he gives her his trust.

He calls her *Roya.*It means Dream.

The book hits tropes I personally love and never see set in this world: slow burn, forced proximity, morally grey MMC, an FMC who chooses love over logic, and a magic system where the relic only responds to genuine human connection rather than force.

It launches on Amazon Kindle on June 2nd. I'm not here to hard sell, I just wanted to share it with people who might actually enjoy it and would love to hear if this sounds like something you'd read.

Happy to answer anything about the world, the characters or the writing process. And if anyone has tips for a debut author launching on KDP — I'm all ears!

What real historical civilisations do you wish fantasy drew from more?

I feel like fantasy has a medieval European problem. While I love a good court intrigue or Roman era story, I always find myself most captivated by fantasy that pulls from civilisations we don't see often enough.

For me it's ancient Persia. The Achaemenid Empire at its peak was one of the most sophisticated civilisations in human history - vast trade networks, incredible architecture, a mythology that's barely been touched by fantasy writers. It peaked my interest so much so that I decided to write a book around it and am still working on it.

Question though, What civilisations do you want to see more of in fantasy?
The more specific the better!

Hi! I am Freyana and I recently completed writing the first draft of my debut romance novel. It’s got time travel, magical relics and more! I can’t believe I actually completed writing it. A story that’s lived in my head for so long finally on paper!

Now, the main stuff starts, working on multiple edits and drafts. It’s scary but also fulfilling at the same time.
