AC blows cold when in EV mode, AC blows hot when engine kicks in '23 LE Corolla Hybrid

I've been troubleshooting my '23 LE hybrid. I was idling and testing out the AC and sure enough it was blowing cold while sitting there, but sometimes the engine would kick in while idling and the AC would stop blowing cold. I drove it to the gas station and when the ICE was engaged the AC would blow hot. On the drive back home I have a long driveway and I drive that stretch in EV mode, sure enough it blows cold during that stretch.

Has anyone else encountered this issue with their hybrid? What was the fix? I had posted yesterday pissed off about my condenser, but now im thinking its not a condenser problem because it still has the ability to push out cold air.

Eco mode is not engaged on the air settings. I played around with the outside air intake and recircuted air which made no meaningful change. Ive been exploring blend door issue, but there is no associated clicking noise or audible change.

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need any more pics or vid or info!

Not pleased with the grill openings in relation to the AC condenser '23 LE

It finally got hot enough to turn on the AC and it is blowing hot. Im still in the 3 year and 36k mile warranty, but dealer is telling me that if the AC condenser takes any rocks and is found to be faulty then i can pound sand and pay up oit of pocket. I popped the radiator cover off to take a look and I dont see anything catastrophic, but I feel like im gonna be hung out to dry regardless. I gotta fork over $185 just for the damn dealer diagnostic.

Has anyone else run into this issue with their 12th Gen corolla's AC failing within 2-3 yrs of use?

Also r1234yf AC coolant is such a damn ripoff compared to r134a. Has anyone tried recharging their AC coolant on this current gen of corollas like the good old days of r134a?
