HELP “ER1” Code

Timeline

  1. Purchased used Pitboss pb700fb1 on fbm in relatively good condition.

  2. OEM control Board would not adjust temps past 250°

  3. Purchased and installed aftermarket PID board.

  4. Pitboss operational for about a dozen cooks and then appears ER1 code.

  5. Cleaned and checked connections to original temp probe. ER1 code still present.

  6. Purchased and installed new aftermarket RTD temp probe. No success. ER1 code still present.

At this point I thought maybe it was the aftermarket board? The aftermarket board was nice, but I desired an upraded board with WIFI capabilities. So I decided to go that route.

  1. Purchased and installed new board with WiFi capabilities.

  2. Upon operation of new board (with new temp probe) a flash of ERR code appears, and then back to flashing a ER1 code with beeping sounds.

For the record. The fan is operational, and so is the auger.

As per the quick appearance of the Err code. Err could be an ignition error. With this new WIFI board, the “Grillir G” control app also shows “Ignition fault” notification.

At this point in time I have ordered a new igniter that should be delivered this afternoon.

(Thankful that these parts aren’t very expensive)

With that being said. Are ER1 codes and ERR codes the same? I feel like I’m the on the right track to start cooking again. If this new igniter doesn’t give me the fix I’m looking for, I’m at a loss and don’t know what else to do. Possibly reach out to Pitboss support? Will they assist me even though I purchased used?

Has anybody experienced a situation such as the one I currently find myself in?

Our new (Used) 2018 SL Midnight

Our third child is due in August. So we needed a car with a third row. Picking up this used 2018 Pathfinder Sl midnight edition on Friday! Closed the deal for $12,300. It has 93k miles and a great CARFAX with maintenance records. We didn’t want to take on a high car payment and this one checked all the boxes for us at only $250/month. Added a warranty on the deal just in case. Super excited to drive across state and pick it up!

My third child is due in August. Looking into purchasing a van; Used. Interested in a Pacifica. From my research, It’s showing to avoid anything before 2020. Less reliability. Can anybody make an argument to disagree? Thank you in advance
