D842 technology and ethics

I started my program last month and I’ve completed the first 4 classes. I just started D842 and for the life me of I am so over it. I started the class over the weekend and looked at the tasks and I’m just so unmotivated and I’m not sure why :(
The tasks alone are stressing me out because of the wording. Did anyone else feel this way about this particular class?

Vent:

I’ve been a para for a few years and also an RBT. I took some time off after I had my baby but went back to a new district just recently. I chose a different district because my preferred didn’t have any current openings this late in the year and I figured why not try something different…well that was a big mistake.

The team I work in is probably the most unaccepting and just straight mean teams I’ve ever worked on. They have me as the 1:1 with one of the more “difficult” students, which I don’t mind at all. This student and I actually work really well together. The team will regularly talk about how awful the student is to work with how they dislike her and how nobody wants to be around her because at the beginning of the year, she was extremely unsafe. I can understand their perspective, but showing that the student is now making extreme progress and is able to keep safe; You would think they would become a little bit more accepting. Or at least willing to adjust.

What bothers me the most is that I’ve noticed their dislike for the student has now turned into dislike for me because I work with that student 1:1 and try to incorporate them in the regular routines per the teacher and admin direction.

I guess I’m just coming to say paras are trying their best and we all know this job is hard. There’s no need to be snotty and rude to your coworkers which makes it harder. Especially new to your team staff. Not a very good way to set the tone.

That’s all. Thanks for coming to my vent session.
