Hello all, I’ve had my boy Micolash (male Grammostola Pulchra) since 2024. He never had a problem.
He had a molt and went from his gorgeous velvety black to a dull brown color, which is strange since after every molt he’s usually blacker. After almost a week from the molt I offered him a cricket and he ate it straight away, and this was a couple days ago. Today I found him outside of his hide, still brown, his legs curled in what I initially thought was a death curl but not as much tucked under him. He started to run and move funny, displaying an erratic behavior, often stumbling and sometimes falling on his back. I’ve noticed his abdomen being really smaller then usual and his cephalotorax being “flat”, I don’t really know how to explain it.
As far as I wanted not to disturb him, I am worried that he’s dehydrated so I removed his usual hide and put him in a temporary plastic box with a wet tissue to ensure he’s hydrated. Currently he has an humidity level of 70% and 23 degree Celsius temperature…
I regularly spray his enclosure and he always has a bowl full of water so I find this strange but maybe the temperature went up after the molt and he got dehydrated…
I don’t know what to do. I love him with all my heart, anyone has any suggestions?
The video is ugly but I didn’t want to stress him any further. The plastic box is in his enclosure and he can get out of the box, he has a full water bowl nearby and the bedding is humid too.
If this information is useful, his fangs were full black and hardened when I gave him the cricket
Thanks to anyone who will help or even just spare a kind though for my baby.
