Hey everyone,
I have a 96 k1500. It does not have a security chipped key. I went to start the truck the other day and the ignition cylinder won't turn. I have never had an issue before this.
I tried wiggling the steering wheel to make sure it wasn't the issue. I tried some dry lube inside the cylinder. I tried a spare key. Nothing worked.
So at this point I'm thinking the lock is Toast and go to replace it. The only problem is, you need to be able to turn the key to get the ignition cylinder out.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
I won't be very responsive for the next few days as I work 13 hour, over night shifts.

ETA: Figured out of already. A tumbler got stuck. I did some percussive maintenence on the cylinder which freed the tumbler and allowed me to turn the cylinder. Added copious amounts of dry lube.
