AITAH for asking someone on the Beltline to turn down their music? For context, I live right off the Beltline. The individual was on the Beltline but was staying in one spot for over 30 minutes. He was smoking pot (don’t really care about that), and blaring his music so loud you couldn’t have a conversation. The problem was that the music was highly inappropriate. Every other word was a curse word, sexual innuendo, or the n-word. We have elementary age children in our neighborhood and this was around 6:30 pm.
I did eventually get tired of it, and asked him to turn it down or leave due to the kids. He lost his mind and of course,in normal fashion, started calling me names and threatening to fight. He acted like he could do whatever he wanted because he was on the Beltline. A crowd started to gather around him, so I stopped engaging. But it felt, like I was the one in the wrong. AITAH, or why can’t people be decent humans and respect those around us??
