The Soundtrack is one of the most distinct, unique soundtracks of music I have ever heard in a video game soundtrack, Especially for sci-fi with an atmosphere like the new marathon, where yes plenty of other sci-fi soundtracks are good, Marathon's IS the most intertwined and woven soundtrack into the identity and feelings that a project has had that I have experienced, whether that be game, movie, show. Regardless of genre, because while something like God of War's soundtrack fits this low growl of this old Greek god is now in the Norse Saga, Marathon does that for sci-fi, It takes this bright, full world that filled with tones of a far flung grounded or hard sci-fi that even though is grounded, is full of color. Distinct from most other hard sci-fi world out there which keep the tech near what todays technology is or a slight "cleaner" version of it, making many of these worlds in my eye a less distinct and similar worlds of many common worlds. Aesthetic of a far flung but still colorful world that is in my eyes only rivaled by 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Soundtrack works so well to convey the unique world that is Marathon, where it is a technologically challenged and realistic expansion of humanity into the stars. All captured and seeping through the essence of Marathons soundtrack.
Listening to it you hear more intense and "High Action" (Dps Phase type music from D2) versions of tracks that only Bungie in my eyes has captured in it's other soundtracks that i love. I love the Gradual increase of intensity through each sound and I just wish there were parts in the game where these parts would play in, it would make me feel that more sucked into the world and style of Marathon.
Mainly wanted to post this to see if anyone also felt the same or also enjoyed the soundtrack at all!
