My wife and I booked a 2bd condo via Airbnb for the month of October. The condo is right on Seawall Blvd in the Babe’s Beach area…nice balcony with ocean view. (This was most important to us)

My wife went to Galveston for a long weekend last year and liked it a lot. I’ve never been. Our plan is to work remote, hangout at the beach, explore the area and restaurants when we aren’t working. I love walking and wanted to be on the beach.

I guess my question is…how is this area to stay?
I researched that Oct is a great month to visit. We will have a car and don’t mind driving to restaurants etc when we go out. We are both in our early 40s.

Any tips or recommendations?

We booked an upcoming HAL cruise to Alaska through Costco. 2 adults in my room. We paid extra to select one of the best available rooms at time of booking and also a room close to our mother-in-law’s room.

Got an email today saying HAL changed our room. The new room is still on the same/maindeck and starboard side, but it’s right next to the elevators now and not close to my MIL’s room.

I called Costco and they contacted HAL…they couldn’t do anything about it. (Fine print said HAL can change your room at anytime)

I’m curious how often this happens??? The rep at Costco said it was very rare and he’s only seen it a couple times in 10 years. Anybody else have this happen recently with HAL?
