The later seasons are too lobsided

And by that I mean that most of the cast in on team Daenerys, while team Lannister has like one or two people that fans actually wanna follow. Aside from Cersei, Jaime and Bronn (and even then Jaime joins team Daenaerys in Season 8) there's literally no one else people would care about to follow. Earlier seasons had so many interesting characters in the capital even though the Lannisters were the "bad guys", but by the end everything in KL was just so dull.

I think one easy solution to fix how stale the conflicts felt is that Jon never bends the knee and tries to lay claim to the throne himself. Then you actually got two interesting factions warring with a lot of likeable characters on both sides while the chaos faction joins the fight every now and then and reaps the rewards of the bigger two clashing. This doesn't fix the issue of KL being a bit of a bore, but atleast they'd have a bit of intrigue to them other than waiting for the main cast to march south and end the show. It's just so boring how it is now...
