Hard decision or easy??

The Bard's signature Ballads have a powerful area effect (since they require the bard to be in a good center position, and use up your Weapon slot.)

Their basic attack, Mana Chord, makes it so the bard sometimes has extra mana (if it hit an enemy) or less mana (if it gifted an ally.) With variable mana, and mana-intensive Ballads, the bard would benefit from cheap spells, or spells with limited uses that can fill out their turns opportunistically.

By the way, I've really had an idea for a long time to add a "pizza delivery" padding

It's like spending 7 cents on a "gym membership" and a box of pizza falls from the sky

If you’re too Binding of Isaac-brained like me, try doing this to frame the game to be even more of a skill-based casino rogue-like adventure.

Are you about to take a break for the day?

Hold on for just a minute - assemble your team, select a chapter, then save and quit.

Later, the next time you boot up the game, look at your team comp and recall what exactly your intended win condition was the last time you played the game.

Imagine your understanding of the game’s mechanics and challenges as a muscle that needs to grow.

Reviewing your team again with a fresh mind will allow your brain to exercise how quickly you can identify what win conditions fit the run.

This has helped me sharpen my understanding and confidence in the game, especially in knowing just how well-equipped my cats are for a chapter.

Especially for when I ran into the Crazy/Impossible mode difficulty spike.

I hope this simple practice can be beneficial to you, whether you have 10 hours or 500 hours.

Edit 2: here’s one more thought I had that I think is relevant to this post.

We can give each other advice all we like, but each player should acknowledge that every run is wildly different.

Every situation, every cat, every different team composition. It all reinforces the reality that this game is much more complicated and nuanced than we’d like to think.

And so, even though if I had my way I’d give every player the answer to every problem, know that, when given what options you have when considering the state of your household, and in considering how it will affect your household’s mutations and item economy, the solution will ultimately be up to you.

Only you will know best for yourself. And that is a great thing.

So I was watching my partner play Mewgenics and I came up with a silly idea for a boss fight in the Junkyard, which it's pretty much literally a *trash* metal band, it's just a concept and tbh i didn't put much thought into it besides of it looking cool or whatever, some stuff makes sense some not. My partner liked it and convinced me to post it somewhere so here we go. I can yap a little bit about the mechanics and characters that we came up with.

the whole band itself is composed by 4 members but you can only attack one when it's off scenario, there can only be one member off scenario, going first: Socket - Plague - Goliath - Raviena. The rest don't do anything except for Raviena who gives their off-scenario ally a random buff at the start of the round.

Socket: Pianist, youngest member of the band (he/him)
Just a tiny kitten with wobbly cat syndrome, who plays the piano, and does a very good job at it regardless of what you think. Strongly believes he's at the top of the world.
Small amount of HP, damage and 20% of failing his attack but crazy mobility plus 20% chance of dodging, attacks with his keyboard in a spinning motion, if it hits an unit receives a new turn, he can move diagonally only once per turn.

Plague: Bassist, the oldest member of the band (they/them)
Regardlesss of their appearance they are indeed a cat - just possum patterned. A huge flirt.
Throws nails and needles infected with poison, their only melee attack is a hit with their guitar which applies stun. Average HP and damage, mostly status effect centered.

Goliath: Drumer, the first member of the band (he/them)
Eventually he started to accept the glass shards embedded in him as part of his style, good for him ig.
Tanky and built like a pile of bricks, got a stack of thorns thanks to his spiky glass shards, cannot move because he's too busy with his trash drums. Does AoE in his own spot.

Raviena: Soloist and guitarist, leader of the band. (She/They)
Her name comes from, ofc, rabies. cuz, she has rabies. her guitar axe should speak for itself on how much of a menace she is.
Average HP, crazy damage and effects.
Applies rabies (and madness 2) to any unit who enters in contact with her, has this crazy ability which is just slamming down her guitar like guitarrists do to try and slice any unit in area, it's cool.
