AITA for not buying my girlfriend flowers?
context I’m 18m and she’s 17f and the reason I don’t but flowers for her is I don’t see the point in them why would I spend the money in flowers for them to die in 2 weeks and get her new ones I’d much rather get her gifts she can keep and use and look ive only gotten her flowers twice and it’s one of the reasons I don’t get her flowers the first time I gave her flowers was after a fight we had so I got her flowers and a card and cherrys cause there her favourite when they’re in season but I left them at her door and when she checked the flowers were thrown all over her front yard and she thought I was breaking up with her and then I had to fight for my relationship for the next hour because of that mishap and after that she complained I shouldn’t have got her those flowers cause they weren’t the ones she likes I got yellow and pink roses from two bouquets and merge them together so she could have a bigger bouquet got her the colours she liked just not the right flowers although I went to multi places to try to find the ones she likes but I couldn’t I still wanted to get her flowers tho the second time she went into hospital and was in serious condition and when she got home to her mothers were she doesn’t live she just stays the weekends I bought her pain meds and flowers the ones she likes when I gave them to her she smelled them and said they were nice then put them down in the lounge while we headed to the kitchen so she could tell me what happened after that I asked if she wanted me to bring her the flowers cause she couldn’t walk well so I did and she left them on the kitchen table for then her aunty to put them in a vase and keep them but she didn’t even ask for the Flowers back she kept them there and the next day went back to where she’s living currently which just makes me feel like she doesn’t really care about them either I’m just annoyed from the amount of TikTok’s and chats I get about getting her
flowers I spend a lot of time on gifts for her thinking about what she likes and what she would use and keep instead of throwing them away but apparently they mean nothing to her and she would rather flowers and I said I would start getting her fake flowers cause I have in the past but I’ll get her much more now so
am I the asshole? Should I get her flowers and give in on my beliefs or should I just stick to what I’m doing? I tried to explain it so many times but she just doesn’t understand EDIT thank you guys for the ideas and what I can do I really appreciate it but now I need no more feed back and will not be replying to comments again thank you for the commenters who were helpful :)
