I attended interviews for an Engineer position in an Abu Dhabi government entity back in February 2026. I was informed that I was selected in the same month, and in March I submitted all the required documents for management approval.

In April, HR updated my status as “onboarding on hold.” Since then, I haven’t received any further updates.

I’m not sure whether this delay is related to the current regional situation, internal approvals, budget issues, or something else. I’m feeling uncertain about whether I should continue waiting or focus fully on other opportunities.

Has anyone here experienced something similar with Abu Dhabi government or semi-government hiring?
