Ignition interlock on my work van sometimes won't turn on, anyone else?

Ignition interlock on my work van sometimes won't turn on, anyone else?

My ignition interlock on the work van randomly won't power up after sitting overnight. I turn the key and nothing happens with the unit. It usually works fine later in the day. This has happened three times this month and it makes me late for work.

We have Smart Start Interlocks and their technician said it could be a loose connection or power draw overnight, but it keeps happening. I have a service check coming up soon. Just want to know if other people on the program have dealt with the same issue on their vans, what could it be? Thanks.

Are online leadership courses worth the money?

A friend passed a cheap online leadership courses a few months ago. It was a waste of time. He said most of it was just reading slides and watching short videos. No real assignments, no group work, and nothing he could actually apply at work. He finished it in two weeks and felt like he learned almost nothing.

I’ve been a supervisor for a couple of years now and I know I need to get better at managing people, giving feedback, and handling conflict. I feel like a proper course would help me a lot, but I don’t want to waste money on another fluff one.

I’ve read quite a few good reviews about Group Colleges Australia's leadership courses. They’ve got a new intake starting soon, which is convenient timing for me. Has anyone here actually done their Diploma of Leadership and Management (or the Cert IV)? Was it worth the money? Did it feel practical and useful?

What’s the biggest mistake new realtors make?

I’m pretty new to real estate and trying to learn as much as I can, but it feels like there are a lot of ways to mess things up early on

For experienced realtors here, what are the biggest mistakes you see beginners make? And what should I focus on to avoid them?

What was the first object you learned to find in the sky?

For beginners there’s often a first object that becomes easy to recognize. Maybe a planet, a bright star, or a simple constella. Once you find that first thing, it becomes easier to start learning others. What was your first one?

Got scolded for sharing a sunrise shot. Anyone else run into this?

I posted a sunrise photo I took last week near Chautauqua. Nothing fancy, just a nice morning shot with good colors. A random person messaged me scolding me for posting it because apparently it wasn't horizontal or something. I was just excited about the sunrise and wanted to share. Has anyone else had someone get weirdly critical about your photos here, Especially sunrise shots for some reason? I get that people have opinions on composition but messaging someone directly feels over the top. Not trying to start drama, just curious if this is a known thing in this sub or if I just got unlucky. Also open to tips on framing if anyone wants to share constructively. But maybe just let people enjoy things?

Looking for books that actually live up to the hype

Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m stuck in a reading slump. I keep picking up bestsellers that everyone raves about, but I end up dropping them halfway through because they just don't click.

I’m looking for that one book that genuinely hooked you from the first chapter, the kind you couldn't put down even if you tried. I'm open to pretty much any genre, whether it's a fast-paced thriller, a mind-bending sci-fi, or a classic that actually stays interesting.

What macOS setting do you always change first?

Whenever I set up macOS there are a few settings I always adjust immediately. Things like trackpad behavior, Dock size, or turning off certain notifications. Curious what settings people here change first on a fresh system.

How to remove rust from a sink and keep it from coming back

My bathroom sink has rust spots near the drain that keep returning no matter what I do. I've tried scrubbing with baking soda and vinegar, then moved to a CLR spray. The rust goes away for a week or two but always comes back. I'm renting so I can't replace the sink or get it professionally reglazed. Is sanding it down with fine grit paper a bad idea? I'm worried about scratching the porcelain. Also, after I clean the rust off, should I put some kind of clear coat or sealant on the bare spots to stop it from rusting again? Not looking for a permanent fix, just something that lasts more than a month.
