Hello. My brother is 15 years old and recently told me he is casually vaping and even smoking cigarettes sometimes. We do not have a close relationship (we have nothing in common and have totally different perspectives on things) so I was shocked, to say the least. I asked him where he got them from and he said his friends. This concerned me as well, since most of his friends that I know of are also around his age.
He said that I shouldn’t tell our parents about this, but I’m really not sure if that’s the right thing. I’m a few years older than him and I just want him to be safe.
I’m scared that if I tell my parents we wouldn’t have any friendship whatsoever anymore.
In September he’s going to college in a different city and I don’t think he’s going to quit there, but just continue in secret. (He’d still be living by us, just traveling to school and back)
Today one of my own friends send me a message saying they saw my brother vaping in our city with others.
Would telling my parents make me a bad older sibling?
