[6319?] Inherited my father’s 1976 Seiko 5 Automatic — trying to identify exact reference
Hey everyone,
I recently found my father’s old Seiko 5 Automatic and I’m trying to identify the exact reference/movement family.
Here’s what I know so far:
Gold-plated Seiko 5 Automatic
Integrated bracelet
Square/TV-style case
Day-date window
Hidden 4 o’clock crown
Serial number: 63496020
Marked SGP ST on the caseback
From the serial number, I believe it was manufactured around March 1976.
The watch has heavy dial patina/corrosion from age and moisture exposure, and according to my father the inner square dial/frame came loose over time.
From my own research, it seems closest to a Seiko 5 from the 6319 family, possibly something like:
6319-5020
6319-5021
or another similar TV-case reference.
Would love to know more about it and If restoration is possible?
