On March 25th I had unprotected sex. It started off protected and ended unprotected. I decided to take a plan b the day after to be safe since on my Flo app my predicted ovulation day was approaching. The pill I took was a generic brand of Plan b called My Way. I took it March 26th, I didn’t think I would have any side effects since I’ve taken it before and didn’t experience any but, I was wrong. On March 30th, I started bleeding. This bleeding was heavy and with clots. It lasted till April 2nd. During that whole time I was very anxious and worried the pill hadn’t worked. The bleeding and mild cramping were the only side effects I had. The anxiety was killing me tho but luckily I still got my period on time. It came April 12th and I had all my usual pre-menstrual symptoms, cramping, fatigue, etc. My period only lasted 4 days. This worried me so I decided to test on April 23rd and it was negative. I’ve started my period again and it was a little earlier than expected but all this is a part of the hormonal disruption caused by Plan b.
The reason I’m telling y’all my experience is because when I was worried and searching for answers here, I only saw stories of people who haven’t gotten their period in months since taking plan b. For me, that wasn’t the case. My cycles are very regular so it didn’t disrupt my cycle as much. Everyone’s experience is different and ik how anxious one can get because of the wait. But I’m here to tell you everything will be okay. Your period will come and when it comes trust it. Stop checking your body for changes and associating everything with pregnancy. That will only stress you out more. Distract yourself by doing something you enjoy. When the thought pops up remind yourself that you already took a plan b to lower your chances.
I know how stressful these times can be, but trust me. Your period will come. Sending all you gals some period dust during this time✨💗
