Does Anyone Still Care About This...?

Hi there. Around 9 months ago, I made a post explaining a basic idea I had for a Fanganronpa project. At the time, I only had the core concept and asked if anyone would actually read it, especially since it would be written in a novel format instead of being a game.

The response honestly surprised me. A few people said they really liked the idea, especially the continuous motive system, and several people said they’d genuinely read it.

Then... I completely disappeared for 9 months.

So first of all, sorry about that.

But during that time, I didn’t stop working on the project. In fact, it became far more developed than I ever expected it to. The cast, motives, murders, themes, locations, and overall mystery have all changed and grown a lot since that original post.

So I wanted to come back and finally give a proper rundown of the story now that the project has a much clearer identity.

Danganronpa: Subject Zero — Plot

Hope’s Peak Academy has existed for many years, producing some of the greatest talent Japan has ever seen. But now the academy plans to expand by opening a new Hope’s Peak College.

Our protagonist is Kanako Kido, the Ultimate Reporter, who is invited to attend the college as part of its very first class.

But before Kanako even reaches the school, she suddenly passes out.

When she wakes up, she finds herself inside a dark and abandoned train station alongside 14 other students.

Before anyone can understand what’s happening, a train arrives and the students are forced onboard.

Once the train begins moving, the screens inside flicker to life.

Appearing on them is a red-furred chibi fox named Vulpes, who happily welcomes the students to his “little experiment” before explaining the rules:

The train will stop at a series of different locations. The students will live at each stop for 10 days.

If a murder occurs, an investigation and class trial will begin.

If the students successfully identify the culprit, they will be allowed back onto the train and continue to the next destination.

But if nobody kills within the time limit — or if the students fail to identify the killer correctly — the experiment will be deemed a failure...

…and everyone will die.

There are six locations in total.

The train’s final destination awaits.

So yeah… does this sound like something people would actually want to read?
