I'm sure I can just modify a pattern I have, the bottom part looks pleated. Would that be a rectangle three times the size? How does pleat math work? Maybe I do just need a pattern.

Just sewed gathers for the first time, they looked shit. Are the two basting stitches supposed so be in the seam allowance or right out side it and then removed? I have a few patterns that need gathers and none talk about removing basting stitches so I figured I'd put them in the seam allowance. But that makes sewing down the gathers impossible to do a straight line some it's so dang bumpy.
