I have a Kenmore 110 direct drive washer that I’m trying to save. When it is agitating, it’s really loud and the agitator only spins in one direction, and it wraps the clothes around the agitator by the end of the wash cycle. This past weekend I installed a neutral drain repair kit and rebuilt the transmission. The picture shown here is the old parts when I first took apart the transmission. This did not fix the issue, and now I also have a leak coming from an unknown location on the bottom of the washer. I would also like to share the clutch and drive coupler both look good when I had the machine apart. Can someone please tell me two things:

  1. Did I rebuild the transmission wrong, or is the capacitor bad and I did the rebuild for no reason? There seems to be no consensus online if my issue is capacitor related or transmission related. I stupidly did the harder one first lol.

  2. Where do you think the leak came from ? Clearly it came from me when I did this work, but I can’t for the life of me figure out where the water is coming from.

Anyone’s help and guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
