Trying to reuse an SSD from another PC

Hi all, having an issue here. I have an old PC from work that I was trying to install Linux on. Originally had no HDD, there were some stripped SSDs also at work so I took one to try (I know what is on these disks, nothing confidential).

The drive is visible in BIOS, but invisible to the Linux installer and all sorts of live boot environments I tried. After some tests, it seems the installer knows a drive is there, but cannot communicate with it.

As something else to try, I got a SATA to USB adapter and plugged it into my W11 laptop. The drive appears in device manager, but again cannot be accessed via My Computer. Tried Diskpart in CMD as AI told me to do, not visible here either.

Something that is probably relevant- the drive was a boot drive, and I'm almost certain had bitlocker enabled.

So is that it, is the drive now e-waste, or is there some way of completely wiping it and making it useful again?

Hi, looking for some advice please. My cat (8-9, rescue so not entirely sure, I've had her 5 years) will soon be going in for dental work. I noticed she was drooling more than usual, not off her food or any other change of behaviour. Decided it best to take her in, needs multiple tooth extractions, around 8. Cost £1300. I keep money saved for this sort of thing so no huge deal.

I'm wondering if I could have done things better though. I don't have insurance, choosing to "self insure" by keeping money in the bank. The vet said that even with insurance, many won't pay out for dental work unless it is an accident or something acute. They also insist on annual dental checkups and cleaning to have that dental cover, which insurance won't pay out for.

I'd never leave my cat in pain, although it's hard because they are so good at hiding it. Would insurance and paying for dental checks annually have saved me anything in the long run? I've had multiple cats, so did my mum when I was a kid and dental work is something that always came up with them. We never tried brushing their teeth as they were all adult cats by the time we got them, don't think they would tolerate it.
