Can I really find engaging activities so regularly for my kid without breaking the bank?

Am a first time parent with a 3.5 yo and it's been a struggle for me not constantly finding new activities to do, for instance, I get them to draw, play with blocks, paint or read and they get involved for a little while but then they want something else to do and I've got nothing else to give. am here for any help. Thanks

I’m installing new white oak flooring on my main floor. I plan to keep my existing red oak stairs and stain them to match the white oak, since replacing the stairs would be a much bigger project.

My question is about the small stair landings (about 3' x 3'), which are currently red oak: Should I keep the landings in red oak and stain them to match the white oak like the stairs, OR replace the landings with white oak to match the new white oak floors?

Would love to hear:

-What looks best visually

- What blends more naturally

Any photos if you’ve done something similar

Thanks in advance!
