I recently started methotrexate injections, 15 mg once weekly. I’m due to take my 4th injection today.
My doctor originally told me to come back for a check-up/blood tests around week 2, but I couldn’t get an appointment. I’m now at the end of week 3, and my appointment is scheduled for the end of week 4.
I haven’t had any bloodwork done since starting. I’m wondering how concerning this is and whether I should delay the 4th dose until I can speak with my doctor or get labs done.
So far, I don’t think I have any serious side effects, just a little fever couple days ago but i was very tired. It was gone after sleeping. I’d appreciate hearing from people who have been on methotrexate: how often were your labs checked when you first started, and what symptoms would make you hold the dose or contact a doctor urgently?
I know Reddit isn’t a substitute for medical advice, and I’ll try to contact my doctor/clinic as soon as possible. Just looking for general experiences and what questions I should ask.
