i did unlock the new zone foothills and i got most items on the zone but i still dont get them at the merchant on my base. Is there something i have to do ?

Hey guys whenever i want to join my word i see join servers but when i click there is no server to join. Where can i find these servers ? Also will i keep the same progress and stuffs on my character when i join another word or server or do i have to start all over ?
