Is it normal for doctors to use health insurance to justify treating patients poorly?

I had a doctor who told me that health insurance was paying them, not me (the patient). They used the analogy that just like how a mechanic fixes cars for the driver, doctors treat patients for the health insurance companies. So, the patient is the car, and doctors can do whatever they want to treat patients and not have to listen to anything the patient says. Is it normal for doctors to use this sort of mental gymnastics to be a giant dick?

I wish I became a Naval Officer so I could of become a politician

I wished I worked harder in my childhood, but it’s too late now because I am too old. My dream was to go to the Naval Academy and become a SEAL officer, and then leave the military to become a politician. I want to ban all immigration and pull the US out of NATO.

Does anyone find it annoying that liberals claim to want to be environmentally friendly when they want to build more housing?

In Europe, conservatives are now arguing against immigration over protecting the environment. Because taking in more people means more homes, more cars, and more pollution. Same should be true here. If liberals care about the environment, they should be against more housing and support freezing the population where it’s at now

[IWantOut] 25M USA -> China

I am 25 and male and currently a US citizen. I am of Chinese descent, but I was born in the US to US citizens. Is there anyway for me to claim Chinese citizenship because of my ancestry? I just want to be prepared if I lose my citizenship one day. Conservatives tell me to go back to China because that’s apparently where I was from. What options do I have? What other countries can I go to?

I want to go to the service academies so badly

I am 24 now and didn’t make the right choices when I was young. I wish I gone to the service academies, become an officer in aviation or special operations, and then become a politician and push for things like banning immigration and getting America out of NATO. I never accomplished my dream. How do I deal with this?

What do the genuine A students do differently? How do I become one?

I saw this comment in the professors subreddit:

> I think one thing that's helped my mental health is caring a lot less about students overall and to separate my sense of self from the overall performance of my students. I think of teaching as an opportunity for me to discuss topics I'm really interested in and that I find important. I genuinely like all the content that I teach. But I can't force students to take the class seriously or put forth effort. I teach for the small minority of students who are genuine 'A' students (not just 'A' students because modern standards are kind of low) who do their work and participate. And that solid small group is good enough for me.
I manage everyone else using minimal effort. I care as little about their success as they apparently care about their own success. I'm not unfair, but I'm also not going above and beyond. I tell these students that I don't give grades, I record them. Every semester, I have a small handful of students who are amazing and I make sure to connect with them and give them extra resources and work/ research opportunities if available. I write them amazing LORs. I nominate them for awards, etc. While ignoring the vast majority. I think this is the main way to stay sane as a college professor.

So my question is how do you become a genuine A students? Or does it come down to intelligence or IQ and you just have to be born like that?
