I’m thinking of buying some Caran d ache luminances open stock (around 30-35 colours) and I was wondering, what colours should I get if I’m going to use them for food/botanical illustrations?

I've been trying to draw realistically but all of my drawings are turning out in this almost cartoon-ish style. I do love it though! Maybe it's my unintentional art style? Any tips or advice?
