So I have a HP 8600 Officejet pro. Overall no issues. Recently 905 XL ink finished up. I didn’t take it out and refill it before the chip registered depleted. Thus even when I refill it, it won’t change the chip and the communication with the printer. This isn’t new. Don’t like it but I know it’s a thing.

So we bought a brand new 950 XL and got this message for the first time ‘There is a problem with the printer or ink system. turn printer off then on. If problem persists contact HP’.

Weird. I did it. Didn’t remove it. Talked to HP. They told us a bunch of steps and walked through things with us. They said must be a faulty ink cartridge. They sent a new one. Same problem. They blame the printer but if I put in the old cartridge it doesn’t do it. I notice that the difference is where is was manufactured which probably goes with when it was manufactured. Our old one is china and the new one is Malaysia. I asked HP for a non Malaysian cartridge and they have none as they moved everything to Malaysia. They would not entertain that it’s the cartridge that is bad and not the printer. I get our printer is old but I don’t think that’s the reason for this. Anyone else have this issue with Malaysian cartridges? Or does it work without problem for you? I’m not against hearing it works for you because now I have two cartridges that i dont know what to do with
