My neighbors are having loud sex and I don’t know what to do
I live on the 3rd floor and my upstairs neighbor is really loud. I don’t mind the footsteps or the dragging of furniture because that’s just part of living in a shared space. I realize a lot of the things I hear aren’t really his fault as we have hardwood in every space except the bedroom.
I’ve had to tap the ceiling once or twice to get him to turn down his music and he has. Well the other day, he had his music up sooooo loud, like I could hear it bar for bar. I didn’t initially tap the ceiling because it’s like 2 in the afternoon, it is what it is. Well then, like 20 minutes after hearing him blasting his loud as music, I hear a girl moaning then I hear him moaning. On top of hearing the loud music, now I’m having to hear him pound this girl. I had to hear the entire session, and I tapped the ceiling once because I didn’t want to ruin their moment, but I also didn’t want to hear him or this girl hunching.
The ceiling tap didn’t work, they just got louder. I tried to call the office twice to let them know, but they didn’t answer so I resulted to calling the Police. I called the non-emergency line because there was no way that I was going to listen to loud music and hunching all day long. The Police did come out and he did turn down the music, but a few days later, I could hear them hunching again.
After thinking about it, I’m happy I didn’t tell the office because I feel like that might have been very embarrassing for him, since they would know who he is. I don’t think he’s aware that I can hear him having sex, I think he thinks the music is the issue. I was going to write him a letter letting him know that I can hear his sexual encounters but I wanted to get some input on the best approach..The sex noises just started about 2 weeks ago and I’ve heard it three times since the first time.
