Acrylic painting of my garden

Acrylic painting of my garden

My first painting on canvas cardboard, for my painting class on the theme "In my garden".

This was painted from a reference photo I took crouching in my lawn to get some depth. The photo had a nice blurry tree in the background and a wide range of values that I couldn't really capture, but I'm proud of the foreground hyacinth. In retrospect I would have done it much differently, but well I kinda had to fail to learn, all in all good experience.

This was also the longest it ever took me to paint a piece, around 7 hours of work for a 20*30cm canvas.

Painting of The Most Dangerous Subject Ever

A friend and I were joking that since hands, bikes and horses were reknowned as hard subjects to paint, a horse with hands riding a bike would be the Most Dangerous Subject Ever. So I painted it as a present for his birthday.

As a beginner in acrylics, I'm quite happy with how it turned out, even though some stuff is not perfect.
