Locked up pretty good, pulled some metal shards out of the gearbox.

How does this shaft come out so I can remove the gears? I don’t see any snap rings or anything and I’m having a tough time finding any good resources. It’s in there pretty good — I do have a press, just not sure if this is a press fit.

My wife’s grandfather needs his tiller back up and running. New transmission is on order but we would like to refresh this one as a spare if nothing else.
