Temporary service job while looking for work in neuro research
Hello. I just graduated with a degree in neuroscience, and I have plans to get a PhD in computational neuroscience sometime in the future. For now, i'm waiting to hear back from post-baccs and reaching out for work in labs, but still haven't found any work.
I need to find a job in service, preferably in food. I've worked in service since I was 15, and now I just turned 22. I am nervous that because of my degree and career goals, my application will be deemed too highly qualified to be a server, or whatever it may be.
I am just not sure how I should approach this in an interview. I usually do quite well in interviews; I've been very hardworking at all of the jobs that I've had and can back that up well when answering questions. However, I worked the same seasonal retail job back at home all throughout college, so I haven't had to interview for one since before I had a degree.
Anyways, this is getting too long, but any advice would be useful.
