Alternative to Metformin & GLP?
To make a long story short, I had my gallbladder out and developed bile acid malabsorption that gets worse with metformin. Currently on a microdose of GLP to slow digestion and coincidently helps my PMOS (formerly PCOS) symptoms.
My partner and I want to get pregnant again at the end of the year since having our twins through IVF. Hopefully naturally! The general recommendation has been to stop the GLP because of unknown effects to fetuses, but I can’t go on metformin while ttc. We plan on seeing a reproductive endocrinologist but wanted to hear from anyone else before hand.
Just curious if anyone’s experienced lack of tolerance to metformin and if their doctors or specialists have other recommendations for insulin resistance?
I’m half tempted to just jump straight into medicated cycles like clomid with a dr because the ttc journey prior to ivf was actual torture for me.
