I overfilmed my latest personal project (500GB+ of travel footage), and a lot of the heaviest files are like 4–5 minute clips where I only actually need 10–20 seconds.

Normally I keep all originals until editing, but this time I’m running out of SSD space before I even start properly editing (a month later).

I’m thinking maybe the best workflow is to go through everything first, render/export only the usable moments, then delete the huge originals? But I’m worried about losing quality or making things harder later.

What’s the best way to handle this in DaVinci Resolve without sacrificing quality too much?
