Probably a silly question but I’d appreciate if someone confirms.

My son got a reception place offer at our second choice school. I’m still hoping he will get a place at our first choice through waitlists etc, but I was wondering if accepting the offer (just so he has a guaranteed place) will impact his position in the wait list for the first choice school? Or does each council set their own rules in that regard? The first school is managed by a different council (we live on the boundary) if that matters.

I messaged both councils but received no reply unfortunately.
