I’m trying to clarify/understand how fleeing and fallback in good order works, since I’ve been away for a year.
I know both units pivot from center to center after a failed leadership test, but do they pivot individually or at the same time?
Also sometimes bases and units differ in size—like corner-to-corner— or are aligned badly. This can create a gap when they pivot, the gap gets larger the bigger the disparity between base size, unit size and alignment.
Do you bring them back together after the pivot and before rolling, or do you count the gap? I played a game recently where I had a large unit facing two monstous cav bases at the corner of my unit. We both rolled a seven, but he said I didn’t catch them since there was a about a 1 inch gap.
It felt off, though, because I thought the roll was always the deciding factor if no other obstacles were in the way.
Also, if there’s a building behind a unit that falls back in good order, if they were on track to hit it, would they stop before the building, or would they still flee around it like a normal fleeing unit?
