22 prime SE- new engine installed

Well, I took my baby in for an oil change at 38K and the dealer wouldn’t let me leave with it as they said they heard a noise coming from the engine bay that they didn’t feel comfortable about. Keep in mind I had mentioned to them with ticking noise at around 10,000 but they couldn’t find any issues at that point. So I just assumed it was something to do with being a hybrid with this model as I’ve never had a hybrid before This noise was only heard when the gas engine was running. Well, it turns out Rod two was damaged and scored and shedding some metal. The dealer decided to just put a new short block in. So if you hear a ticking noise with your gas engine, don’t ignore it. Luckily, we really have the gas engine running.
