Have recently played Sifu and En Garde! Excellent games with very tight Martials Arts combat. In both games, I really enjoyed running around the arenas, dodging between attacks, making snap decisions about when to attack and when to just push someone away. I especially liked how En Garde lets you use showmanship like somersaulting over an enemies head to stun them.

Other Games I liked:

  • Scott Pilgrim EX: Generally not a fan of side scrollers, but this one gets a pass because I love couch Co-Op
  • Batman Arkham series: combat is fast and fun, but too simple. The gadgets add some variation but were pretty useless overall.
  • Sekiro: I never finished it due to life getting in the way, but I did really enjoy it. Sadly I had to give up my gaming PC a few years back, and the replacement isn't as strong.
  • Dark Souls: Finished all three, huge fan, though I'm looking for "tighter" combat like Sifu and Sekiro

The only other game I tried and really did not like was Midnight Fight Express. It seems like it gets quite good, however the aesthetic was not to my taste.
