I’m looking for some advice on moving to Italy and could really use your input.
I’m from Pakistan and my girlfriend is from Italy. We spent the last 6 months together in Thailand on a digital nomad visa (back in Pakistan now), and now she wants me to move to Italy with her. I work as a software engineer remotely, but my monthly income is between $1200 to $1500, which is below the digital nomad visa requirements for most European countries.
I really want to be with her in Italy, but I’m not sure which path I should take since my income is currently not high enough to qualify for the digital nomad or self-employed visas.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Do you have any suggestions on:
Visa options that might work for someone in my situation?
Ways to increase my chances of being legally allowed to stay in Italy?
Any realistic steps I could take to bridge the income or visa gap?
